As a co-op, we are here to serve you, and keep in mind the patronage you receive at year-end, is often enough to make the difference between CVA and area competitors.
I realize harvest is a busy time for all of us. I would like to keep this blog to a quick read and touch on just one key point. Marketing opportunities come and go, sometimes these opportunities are missed because time is short. Or it’s just “too busy” to watch the market. That being said, utilize offers! Place a cash offer that meets your operational needs. This way in the event of a rally of say $4.00 cash corn, your offer will fill. That’s right a sale would be made, even though you were fixing your corn head or replacing a tire. It’s easy to forget about a marketing strategy this time of year. Sometimes working smarter beats working harder at least with respect to marketing. Also, consider placing future offers for stored grain, like for April/May delivery if that meets your operational needs.
