Warmth for the Winter: The Benefits of Contracting Propane

August 20, 2019
As the dog days of summer come to an end, the last thing on your mind is propane contracting. With the “ber months” fast approaching now is the time to look at contracting your propane for the winter. I would like to give you three reasons why contracting propane in the summer is the preferred time to lock in your gallons for the upcoming winter.

Timing is Key

Many of you have heard the old adage of real estate, “location, location, location.” Just as the location of your home is important, the same can be said about the timing when purchasing your propane for the year. Historically, as we look at the propane market throughout the year, we will see that the most expensive time to buy is during the highest use periods. Typically, this time is usually during the winter months. Conversely, in the summer we typically see the lowest cost a person would expect to pay for propane for the year.

Budgeting is Best

Do you have an annual budget for propane? When my wife and I got married, the first house we rented was on propane. One of the things I remember about that house was that one of the largest bills that we had was our propane bill. Since we rented our house, we opted to call in when we needed propane. Unfortunately, that led to large transactions which could have been avoided and lessened the burden on our checkbook, if we would have been on the CVA monthly budget program. If you are interested in the monthly budget program, we can calculate how much propane you go through on an annual basis and in turn spread your payments out over a 12-month period. What this does is take those large transactions and put them into smaller, more manageable, monthly payments.

Propane is Provided

While you have always had the option to check your own tank and call in when you are ready for a delivery, Central Valley Ag has put measures in place so that you don’t run out of propane when you need it most. Whether you are on the budget program or you prepay your propane, Central Valley Ag keeps your tank full all season long. You can have the piece of mind knowing that you will never be without fuel to heat your house for the winter.

As you can see, purchasing propane for your home doesn’t have to be a hassle. By partnering with Central Valley Ag on your propane needs, you can be assured that you won’t be left out in the cold this winter.
