ACS Innovation Preview | Soybeans

July 18, 2019

Central Valley Ag’s ACS Innovation Series field days are just around the corner. This year, CVA will have field days on August 13 in Cuba, Kan., August 15 in Norfolk, Neb., and August 20 in Polk, Neb. We spend a lot of time talking about corn production in Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska, but at our ACS Innovation Series sites we also do a lot of work with soybeans.

In this week’s Agronomy Focus video, we talk about some of the soil applied nutrient trials we are undertaking in soybeans in 2019. We worked with MAP, MicroEssentials MESZ, Calcium Products SO4, and multiple micronutrient products to understand how they would impact yield across multiple soil and fertility environments, weather conditions, and growing seasons. All of these are replicated trials to gather more accurate results.

At each field day, we will tour these plots as well as others on in-furrow applications for soybeans and on foliar applications of nutrient and biological products. We also compare several management practices such as hydraulic downforce and variable variety or hybrid seeding. At the field days, we will share our harvest data from last season as well as place 2019 attendees on the distribution list for the 2019 harvest data.

Mark your calendar for the date of the field day closest to you and come join Central Valley Ag during our ACS Innovation Series as we review our research and show you how the treatments differed in plant growth and final yield.
