Skyline Spooktacular Extreme Trail Challenge and Trail Ride on October 26th

October 14, 2019

As the outdoor riding season begins to slow down, join us for one last trail ride in October. On October 26, 2019, CVA Customer Service Specialist, Kristin Jacobi, from our CVA Scribner Feed and Grain location, will be hosting a fun event at Skyline Ranches in Elkhorn, NE. Many of you have participated in the Jingle Bell Ride the past few years, but due to cold weather challenges, Kristin has decided to try a Spooktacular event this year instead.
This event is open to the public and a family-friendly atmosphere. The gates will open at 8 am Saturday morning.  The first event, the Extreme Trail Challenge will begin at 9 am sharp. And the second event, the Trail Ride, will leave the Skyline arena parking area at tentatively 2 pm. Details for each event can be found below:
Extreme Trail Challenge: This is a Spooky Halloween theme, however, there will be no “pop scare” (things that will jump off the ground or out of something) for rider safety. There will be Open, Novice, and Youth (18 and under) class divisions. This event will have limited entries with cash payout and prizes. Entry fees for the Open are $40, Novice $30, and Youth $25.
Trail Ride: The ride will depart at tentatively 2 pm. This will be a leisure ride with no obstacles and suitable for any level of rider. Please remember your trail riding etiquette and respect the trails. We are in a neighborhood and will be walking near homeowners’ yards. Please stay on marked trails and do not leave the group unless you are a resident of Skyline and know how to navigate the trail system.
On top of prizes for challenge winners, prizes will be given for best dressed horse and/or rider. So feel free to show off your style! We will also be collecting donations for an Omaha shelter (TBD), so please bring canned/non perishable goods, toiletries, or new/gently used winter coats and clothing. As one of the sponsors, Central Valley Ag will be providing cider and s’mores around the campfire. Plus, we are working to getting a food vendor. Even if you aren’t able to participate in the ride or challenge, you are more than welcome to come watch, bring donations, dress up, and just be a part of it all the fun!
For more information visit the Facebook page, 2019 Skyline Spooktacular, or reach out to Kristin Jacobi at or myself at  A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, November 3, 2019, if weather doesn’t cooperate. We are excited to see everyone in their Halloween costumes. Sign up today as there are limited entries for the Extreme Trail Challenge!
