COVID-19 Update from CVA

April 15, 2020 Update

CVA Member-Owners,

The situation with COVID-19 continues to be fluid with changes happening rapidly and often. At Central Valley Ag (CVA) we have two main objectives during this time:
  1. Work to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 to keep our employees and customers safe and healthy and to not overwhelm our local and regional healthcare network.
  2. Adhere to CVA’s Mission, Vision and Core Values – more specifically to continue to serve our customers and deliver value to their operations.
Based on these two objectives, we are asking for your help as we enter our busy planting season. Please review the following guidelines and adhere to them when visiting a CVA location or when CVA employees visit your farming operation to deliver products and services.
  • Please stay in your vehicle as much as possible during loading and unloading during your visit to a CVA location, including liquid and dry fertilizer plants – if you need to exit the vehicle, please use social distancing and try not to come within 6ft of others or CVA employees at the facility.
  • If we are visiting your farming operation to deliver product or perform a service, our employees will stay at least 6ft away from anyone and will try to make the visit as short as possible. To do this effectively, they may need additional assistance from you.
  • Our offices are closed to the public. If you need to communicate with a CVA employee, we ask that you text, email or call your CVA contact. If necessary, we may allow for appointments to be made to visit a CVA office.
  • CVA employees have been instructed to engage in social distancing to mitigate the spread of the virus. So please do not be offended if they keep their distance from you during your visit to a CVA location or during their visit to your location.
On behalf of the employees of your cooperative, thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work through this unprecedented time. We continue to embrace the cooperative spirit to deliver value to you.

Sincerely,

Carl B. Dickinson

March 17, 2020 Update

Dear Central Valley Ag Customer,

The situation with COVID-19 continues to be fluid with changes happening rapidly and often. At Central Valley Ag (CVA) we have two main objectives during this time:

  1. Work to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 to keep our employees and customers safe and healthy and to not overwhelm our local and regional healthcare network.
  2. Adhere to CVA’s Mission, Vision and Core Values – more specifically to continue to serve our customers and deliver value to their operations.

CVA is working closely with our local health officials and adhering to the advice from local, state and national health officials. We have established an internal response team to monitor the situation and determine responses and practices as needed. Examples of these practices include frequent cleaning of offices and heavily trafficked areas; restricted travel by employees between CVA locations and use of remote meeting platforms for necessary meetings. We also have engaged in frequent communication with our employees, keeping them informed of changes in the situation.

Plans have been created to keep locations as functional as possible, should we face a challenge in staffing due to quarantine or absences. At some locations and offices, we have asked certain employees to work from home as part of this planning.

The changes and actions we have implemented have been done with the two main objectives listed above in mind. Our primary concerns continue to be serving our customers, delivering value to their operations while ensuring the safety and health of employees and customers.

We will do our best to keep you informed of any relevant changes that may come in the days or weeks to follow. Please feel free to reach out to your local CVA contact with any questions or concerns you have.

We thank you for your continued support as we work to Embrace the Cooperative Spirit to Deliver Value to our Members.

Sincerely,

Carl Dickinson
