Jun 14, 2019

Central Valley Ag (CVA) member-owners, community representatives and guests attended an open house held at CVA’s brand new facility, The Junction, on June 6 north of Linn, Kansas. The cooperative used the opportunity to showcase the $10.6 million-dollar grain facility that officially opened Fall of 2018.

“With the building of this facility, CVA continues to make a strong commitment to the producers in the area to service their needs today and going forward,” said Bryan Reichmuth, Senior Vice President of Operations at CVA. “We look forward to the opportunity to grow our business and better serve the producers in Washington County and surrounding area.”

Located at the intersection of highway 15 and highway 148 in Washington County, The Junction has upright storage capacity of 2.1 million bushels, 1.5-million-bushel capacity in ground-pile storage and loading capacity of 65,000 bushel per hour. The site also features in-bound and out-bound scales and a card reader system to enhance speed and efficiency. Phase two of the facility includes building an anhydrous ammonia plant in fall 2019 with possible plans of a dry and liquid fertilizer plant and possible fueling site.

The open house included opening remarks by Reichmuth, Representative Bill Pannbacker, and Rusty Morehead, Regional Operations Manager at CVA. Students from the Washington County FFA and Linn FFA chapters partnered with CVA in helping serve meals and man the registration table. Guests registered for door prizes and spun a wheel to win additional items before eating a lunch catered by Jack’s Food Market. After lunch, CVA and J & D Construction representatives led walking tours around the facility, showcasing the many benefits to CVA member-owners.
