Lock-in Fuel Prices Now

As we approach the end of the year, several of our customers start asking about contracting fuel for the upcoming year. Typically, the December to January timeframe is one of the best times to lock in prices,
especially for diesel and gasoline, since market lows are normally put in due to lack of demand. While prices have rallied on the news of a Covid-19 vaccine, we are still below prices we seen last year at this time.
We have a couple different options to meet your contracting needs. The first is the full prepay contract, this option locks in your fuel price and gets you an extra nickel off the current contract price, but requires you to pay for the fuel upfront. This is a great option if you are needing extra expenses before the year ends. The second option is the 15 cent down contract. This option also locks in you fuel price, but only requires you to put 15 cents per gallon down at the time the contract is written. The 15 cents gets applied as your fuel is delivered.
While CVA has always offered contracts for fuel to be delivered to your tank, we now offer contracts that you can pull from any of 50+ CVA fuel retail sites throughout Nebraska and Kansas. Both options are available for retail fuel contract, prepay or 15 cents down, and can be used at any retail site. So if you have farms in different areas, you can pull from different sites off the same contract. Or if you’re a frequent traveler across Nebraska and Kansas, you might consider contracting fuel now to beat the typically higher prices in the summer during prime vacation travels.
You also have the convenience of getting the fuel when you want it or need it, since all CVA sites have 24/7 access with a CVA fuel card or any major credit card. Once you have a retail fuel contract, it will automatically be applied when you make fuel purchases at our retail fuel sites with your CVA Fuel card. You don’t need to remember to use it! This is a great option if you want to lock in your fuel prices for the year and not worry about prices going up.
If you have an interest in any of our contracting programs, please contact any one of our Energy Team members for updated contract prices. Our contract prices are updated daily to stay current with the market.
With the new year right around the corner, I would like to thank everyone for business this past year and look forward to working with you this upcoming year. Wishing you and your family a safe, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
