Austin is an Operations intern based at the 81/20 Facility. Austin is orignally from Pierce, Neb. and graduated from Pierce High School. He will begin his senior year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln this fall. He is studying Animal Science with a minors in Nebraska Beef Industry Scholars and Engler Entreprenuership. His career goal is to expand the family farm operation by increasing the number of cows, expanding the feedlot operation, and increasing the amount of row crop acres. Austin's goals for the summer with CVA include broadening his knowledge on row-crop production, learn valuable skills for any future career and establish contacts in the ag community in the Northeast Nebraska area.
Addison is from Grand Island, Neb. and is a graduate from Grand Island Senior High. He will begin his senior year this fall at University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he is studying agronomy. His goal for the summer with CVA is to learn career offerings with CVA and also learn new things every day to become successful. Addison's interest in agriculture began in middle school when I first started detasseling. Since that day, Addison was eager to learn in the agricultural industry.
Austin is from Elgin, Neb. where he graduated from Pope John Central Catholic High School. He will begin his Junior year this fall at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he is studying agronomy. His career goal is to help growers maximize their potential in agriculture and help make them as profitable as possible. Austin's goal for this summer is to be more involved in customers' field. Also, help make more recommendations to help improve fields while scouting. Austin's interest in agriculture began with family farming and an obsession for high yields.
Brett is from Nickerson, Neb. where he graduated from Logan View High School. He will begin his senior year at Southeast Community College this fall where he is studying applied science of agriculture. Brett's career goal is to become an applicator for CVA and rise up within the ranks into supervisory role. His goal for this summer is to learn basic odd's and in's of the operation of the location, meet with possible new customers, and take the knowledge that he will gain from this internship to the next phase of schooling. His interest in agriculture began when he was old enough to feed bucket calves on the family acreage. His interest grew through involvement in FFA while in high school.
Caleb is from Diller, Neb. and graduated from Diller-Odell High School. He is studying Agronomy with a Precision Ag option at Kansas State Univeristy where he'll be a sophomore this fall. Caleb's career goal is to be self employed whether that be running his own farm, flying drones, or working on his woodworking business. His goal during the CVA internship is to see what it takes for a big operation to run. He also wants to see the chemical/fertilizer part of the business. When Caleb was litt,e he always go ride with dad and grandpa whenver he could. He loved hearing stories and just helping where he was needed. Caleb's love for ag was certain once he learned how to drive the family combine. It was all smiles and excitement from there.
Clara is from Jewell, Kan. and is a graduate from St. John's Catholic School in Beloit. She will begin her junior year this fall at Emporia State University where she is studying elementary education. Clara would like to teach upper elementary in a rural area. As she becomes an educator, she will strive to make an impact in children's lives and be a role model for them to look up to. Since teachers have their summers free, she plans to continue working at a CVA location and use the skills and values gained from the internship to do so. This summer, Clara would like to get experience with the different branches of CVA and see how they operate on a daily basis. In addition to this, she would like to grow in teamwork skills and use leadership qualities to make that possible. Clara's interest in agriculture began growing up the family farm. Growing up on a farm not only spakred her enthusiasm toward agriculture, but it also allowed Clara to have an appreciation for rural Kansas and the work that all the farmers and ranchers do. In high school, Clara enjoyed driving the grain cart during the harvest season for both her dad and other farmers. She like's being a small part of something so big. It wasn't until she went to college that she realized just how much agriculture meant to her. She had always been a part of the entire crop growing process and cattle operation, but when you are three hours away from home you miss out on a lot. This is why Clara is so grateful for this internship opportunity with CVA. Clara looks forward to interacting with her coworkers as they do their best to help farmers be successful this summer.
Jake is from Page, Neb. where he graduated from St. Mary's High School. He will begin his junior year at University of Nebraska-Lincolln this fall where he is studying agronomy with a minor in animal science. Jake's long term career goals are to move home and take over the family farm. In the meantime, he would like to do something in the agricultural field, but stay close enough to the farm so that he can help when needed. His summer goals are to see how I like working with CVA and determine if it is a job I would like to do long term. Jake's interest in agriculture began when he was still in grade school. He would come up and spend a couple of weeks on the farm with grandpa every summer and my interests have only grown from there. Jake is excited to get out of school, and bring home all the new things I have learned from expereinces in college and this internship.
Jared is from Colfax, Iowa where he graduated from Colfax-Mingo High School. Jared will begin his senior year at Morningside College this fall where he is studying agronomy and agri-business. His career goal is to find a job that I enjoy going to every day. Jared's summer goals include learning how to drive truck, learning how to run an applicator, and learning how to load trucks. Jared's interest in agriculture began when showing livestock in 4-H and FFA, and then always being around the farming community.
Jonathan goes by "Jack" and is from Papillon, Neb. where he attended Gross Catholic High School. He will begin his junior year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln this fall where he is studying agricultural economics with a minor in agronomy and animal science. Jack's career goal is to become a farm manager, grain trader or agronmist. His main focus for this summer is to broaden my knowledge of agriculture especially in the agronomy side of things. He wants to challenge himself to work more indpendently, develop skills that he can add to his resume, and also improve his interpersonal skills. His interest in agriculture started at a young age when he would spend time at the ground his family farms around Tekamah and Mead. Jack loved being on the farm and loved outodoors and since then his interest only grew stronger and agriculture became a bigger part of his life.
Kale is from Belleville, Kan. where he graduated from Republic County High School. He will begin his senior year at Kansas State University where he's studying ag business with a minor in agronomy. Kale's career goal is to be a location manager at a cooperative and have cattle on the side. His goal for this summer is to learn more about the products and services that CVA has to offer and get involved with ACS. His interest in agriculture began when he was very little helping his dad work and tag cows and calves as well as riding in the tractor with his dad every chance he got.
Kaleb is from Scribner, Neb. and graduated from Scribner-Snyder Community School. He will begin his senior year at South Dakota State University where he's studying agricultural systems and technology/precision ag, ag business and ag marketing. Kaleb's career goal is to return to the family farm and continue growing the operation. In addition, I would like to continue pursuing a career in the everchanging technology of agriculture.
Matt is from Plainview, Neb. where he graduated from Plainview High School. He will begin his sophomore year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he's studying ag econ/agronomy, animal science and grazing livestock systems. His short-term career goal is to see where my degree takes him. Matt's long-term career goal is to eventually return home to Plainview and take over the family farm. His summer goal with CVA includes gaining a greater understanding of the company as well as the ag industry from the cooperative point-of-view. Another goal is to learn from the people around him from their past experiences at CVA and in agriculture in general.
Nick is from Dakota Dunes, South Dakota where he graduated from Dakota Valley. He will begin his junior year at South Dakota State this fall where he's studying ag business. His career goal is to work in ag sales. Nick's summer goal is to get a better understanding of how the products that CVA offers deliver value to our members.
Seth is from Petersburg, Neb. where he graduated from Pope John XXIII. He will begin his senior year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he is studying applied sciences with a minor in agronomy, animal science, ag econ and ag business. Seth would like to start a career with CVA as a field sales agronomist along with farming part-time. His summer goal is to gain experience on the sales side of the business. He wants to build on his experiences in the field.
Sidney is from Beloit, Kan. where she graduated from Beloit Jr. Sr. High School. She will begin her junior year at Kansas State University this fall where she is studying feed science and management. After graduating from KSU, her career goal is to get a job somewhere in the agricultural industry working in a feed mill. After working in a mill for a few years, she plans to work up the ladder and eventually hold a management position. Sidney's summer goals include learning all she can about what really goes on in a commercial feed mill. She wants to also get a lot of hands on experience and keep building her network through the ag industry. Her interest in agriculture began at a young age as she grew up on a farm where they raised cattle and farmed ground outside of Beloit.
Suzanne is from Phillipsburg, Kan. where she graduated from Phillipsburg High School. She will begin her junior year at Kansas State University this fall where she is studying agribusiness/agronomy.
Taylor is from Agenda, Kan. where she graduated from Clifton-Clyde High School. She will begin her junior year at Fort Hays State University where she is studying agronomy. Her summer goal is to learn more about the careers available from someone with an agronomy degree. From the day she was born, Taylor has had a passion for agriculture. She was riding in the tractor when she was a baby. Growing up and helping on the family farm, she really didn't have a choice to not have an interest in agriculture. She always knew that she wanted to be involved in agriculture after she graduated, but is unsure of what exactly she wants to do. Taylor's family farm is mainly row crop so I had an interest in the agronomy side of agriculture rather than the animal science side. It was not until high school when I participated in a FFA Agronomy CDE that I knew I wanted to major in agronomy.
Wyatt is from Indianola, Iowa where he graduated from Indianola High School. He will begin his senior year at Northwest Missouri State University this fall where he's studying applied science of agriculture. His career goal is to be a sales agronomist or an agronomy manager. His summer goal is to learn as much as he can about the company and the agronomy position from experienced sales agronomists.
Zach is from Bruno, Neb. where he graduated from David City Public. He will begin his senior year at Unversity of Nebraska-Lincoln this fall where he's studying animal science and agbusiness. His career goal is to become a top sales person in either agronomy or animal nutrition. He would like to stay based around Lincoln with a company that supports and respects their employees and vice versa. His summer goals are to become a more well-rouneded person, communicate on a higher level with individuals and groups, and to learn the necessary skills to become a top salesman in the company.
