The Central Valley Ag Scholarship Program is to assist the further education of students of CVA member-owners interested in pursuing higher education in an agriculturally related field.

CVA will offer 16 $1,000 scholarships to students of member-owners.


  1. Applicant must be a student of a current CVA member-owner
  2. Be a high school senior, graduating in spring 2021
  3. Enrolled at a post-secondary institution immediately following high school graduation
  4. Demonstrate leadership abilities, academic performance and desire to further their education and career in an agriculturally related field.
  5. Submit one photo suitable for the newspaper to be used upon selection as an awardee
  6. Complete online application fully
  7. Write an essay on the topic, “How can cooperatives demonstrate their value to the next generation of agriculturists?” 
    1. Essay Guidelines:
      1. No reference can be made in the essay that will identify the contestant. The writer can reference a state’s name or CVA location within the essay. 
      2. Essays must be typed, double-spaced and submitted as a pdf file
      3. All essays must be uploaded online and submitted with a CVA Scholarship Application


The applicant is to fill out the online application form and upload the photo and essay found on Deadline is March 1, 2021.

Applicants will receive a letter once the scholarship committee has determined awardees in April 2021. The scholarship will be mailed to the school that is being attended on behalf of the awardee.
