Internship Program

Spend the summer expanding your knowledge alongside the Agronomy Department. Projects for interns include scouting fields, delivering chemicals, gaining experience in new technologies, and understanding the general operations and sales of a co-op.

Interns divide their summer into week segments. Experience the grain marketing process from start to finish and every step in between. Opportunities include Kansas wheat harvest, touring grain facilities, loading grain trains, and assisting in buying and marketing of grain for CVA.

The Feed Department offers interns a look into the life of a Feed Salesperson. Gain exposure to all aspects by job shadowing with team members, working in the different mill locations and the Feed accounting process.

The Energy Division offers insight into Energy Sales as well as Operations. The energy team provides opportunities throughout Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas from testing tanks, servicing customers, and gaining a better understanding of what it takes to help producers keep equipment moving and on the go.

Interns divide their summer learning about each operational role within agronomy, grain, energy and feed. From driving skid steers, practicing on an applicator simulator, interns will learn the crucial role operations play at the cooperative. Interns will take what they learn and compete in the annual Ag Olympics, too!

Interns will work alongside the Marketing Team to create videos, strategize website and social media tactics, design printed material and more as we work to promote the cooperative way of business. In addition, interns learn how the in-house CVA Print Shop allows us to create anything from direct mailers to truck decals to billboards.

Technology is expanding in every industry and that includes the agricultural world. Interns will join the 20+ IT Team at CVA and work directly with locations across Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas for their technology needs.

As a Talent Intern, you will work alongside the Talent Team to help build and maintain resources for attracting, onboarding and maintaining high performing employees. Additionally, they will help the Talent Team facilitate intern events and other intern projects.
