Mesa Butler joins CVA Ainsworth Team as Feed Sales Specialist

Central Valley Ag (CVA) is pleased to welcome Mesa Butler as the new Feed Sales Specialist based in Ainsworth, Neb. Originally from Harlowton, Montana, Mesa was raised on feedlots and cow/calf operations, where her dad worked as a ranch manager. Growing up immersed in day-to-day livestock operations sparked her interest in the industry from an early age. 

Mesa began her collegiate journey at Casper College in Wyoming before transferring to Kansas State University, where she graduated in December 2025 with a degree in Animal Science. Her interests in genetics and nutrition, along with her drive to help producers create quality livestock and feed programs, led her into feed sales. 

Mesa joined CVA as a summer Feed intern in 2025 where she was able to experience the feed industry firsthand. During her internship, she was able to accompany Merlin Schlote, CVA feed sales manager, to gain hands-on experience and build relationships that extended well beyond the summer. 

Reflecting on her time as an intern, she shared, "When the internship ended, the people I worked with at CVA still kept in touch with me as I returned to college. Everyone I worked with throughout the summer was very helpful, and the internship itself was very hands-on, which made it a great experience." 

With her background rooted in commercial cattle production, she understands the importance of performance, efficiency, and building rations that deliver results. That firsthand experience allows her to connect with producers, anticipate challenges, and offer solutions that make sense in each operation. 

"From day one, Mesa showed a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in learning the feed business," said Schlote. "She built meaningful relationships with both our team and customers, and we're excited to see her bring that same energy and dedication to the Ainsworth area." 

Her personal motto, "make tomorrow better than today," creates the mindset she brings to her customers and the CVA team every day.
