RFCU members invited to informational meetings ahead of vote on proposed CVA unification
Mar 17, 2026
Following the February announcement that the boards of Randall Farmers Co-op Union (RFCU) and Central Valley Ag Cooperative (CVA) approved a merger agreement, RFCU members are now being invited to attend informational meetings and participate in a special voting meeting to consider the proposed unification.
RFCU members will have several opportunities in March and April to learn more about the proposal, ask questions and review details of the potential merger before casting their vote. The RFCU board has scheduled a series of informational sessions in Randall and Jewell leading up to the official vote.
A special stockholder meeting to vote on the merger agreement will be held April 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the Jewell Community Center. Voting must take place in person, and approval requires a two-thirds vote of those present and voting.
If approved by RFCU voting stockholders, the unified cooperative would begin operating June 1, 2026, under the Central Valley Ag name.
RFCU Board Chairman Nathan Greene said the informational meetings are an important step in making sure members have the information they need before voting.
“Our board carefully evaluated the long-term needs of our members, employees and communities before approving this agreement,” Greene said. “These meetings are an opportunity for members to learn more about the proposal, ask questions and understand how this unification could position the cooperative for continued strength and stability.”
CVA Board Chairman Luke Carlson said the organizations remain focused on maintaining strong local relationships while expanding opportunities for producers.
“Central Valley Ag was built on the cooperative principle of working together to serve our members,” said Carlson. “We believe bringing our organizations together would strengthen our ability to invest in people, facilities and technology while continuing to provide the local service producers depend on.”
Members may attend any of the scheduled informational sessions prior to the vote. Cooperative leadership encourages voting stockholders to participate in the meetings and attend the April 29 in-person voting session.
