Central Valley Ag is proud to recognize three winners from the first ever #WEARECVA Photo Contest. With more than 230 photo submissions, two overall winners were recognized and one People’s Choice Award was selected by obtaining the most likes, shares and comments on Facebook.

Madison Kovarna of Merrill, Iowa, was an overall winner with her photo, “Home-raised fat cattle steers and heifers.” Pat Hackenberg of Manhattan, Kan. was also an overall winner with his photo, “2017 Wheat harvest near Salina, Kan.”

Kayla Haring of Lincoln, Kan. was the winner of the People’s Choice Award with her photo, “Cows and pasture in Lincoln, Kan.” The photo received 261 likes, 16 comments and 41 shares.

Kovarna says she is grateful to be selected as a photo contest winner. “I am so surprised and excited,” Kovarna says. “CVA has always been a major part of my life on the family farm.”
The three winners were selected by an internal panel of judges and awarded $100 cash gift cards. Winners will also receive special placement in select print and online publications, including: CVA website, social media, brochures, postcards and other materials.

The #WEARECVA Photo contest accepted photo entries June 12, 2018 through July 20, 2018. Designed to highlight all facets of agriculture using vivid imagery, Tom Palmertree, Senior Vice President of Marketing for CVA, says the photo contest was a large success.

“We ultimately wanted to engage with our communities,” Palmertree says. “Our member-owners are what defines the cooperative spirit to us at Central Valley Ag, and the images shared truly capture that.”
