CVA breaks ground at new grain facility 'The Junction'

Apr 23, 2018

Work on a new, modern grain facility has officially begun at Central Valley Ag (CVA) cooperative’s new site “The Junction,” north of Linn, Kansas near the intersection of highways 15 and 148.

The groundbreaking on April 20th saw Washington County Commissioner Chairman, CVA and AgMark LLC employees, and CVA board of directors in attendance.

“I want to thank Leo and David Voelker for working with CVA so the cooperative can provide this opportunity for our area producers,” said Mark Koss, CVA board member. “I appreciate the forethought and planning that went into this project from our CVA team and the county. I also thank our farmers for their patience to get this project going.”

With an expected completion date for Fall Harvest 2018, the 3.6-million-bushel grain storage facility will increase speed of dumping grain and adding storage capabilities for producers in Washington County, Kansas.

Gary Ouellete, Washington County Commissioner Chairman mentioned his appreciation for CVA choosing Washington County and for CVA being patient during the Internal Revenue Bond and tax rebate process. “I know that CVA will be a great asset to the county and to the area producers,” said Ouellete. “I would also like to thank Commissioners Dave Willbrant, Tim Mueller, and County Attorney Libby Hiltgen for their efforts put forth during this process. I also want to thank Mark Koss for answering questions and educating us on CVA.”

Central Valley Ag is a farmer-owned cooperative headquartered in York, Neb. CVA has locations in Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska. CVA is an innovative leader providing products and services in grain, agronomy, feed, and energy.
