NCCEF Scholarship Recipients

York, NE (July 11, 2017) - The Nebraska Cooperative Council Education Foundation (NCCEF) has awarded eight scholarships totaling $19,000 for the 2017/18 academic year to the students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources and the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA) at Curtis.

To be eligible for the scholarships, students must be majoring in agricultural business/economics at UNL or agribusiness or ag production systems at NCTA. Students must also have a parent or legal guardian who has been an active member, director or employee for at least the prior three years of a participating cooperative. Participating cooperatives must be in good standing of the Nebraska Cooperative Council for at least five years.

Three of the scholarship recipients are from Central Valley Ag Cooperative.
  • Moriah Heerten, daughter of Ron and Sandra Heerten of Springview. Heerten is studying agricultural economics at UNL, and is currently participating in the CVA Summer Internship Program. Moriah is working out of the St. Edward location and is a part of the Winfield Partnership Intern Program. Learn more about Moriah & other CVA interns.
  • Eric Klitz, son of John & Alice Klitz of West Point. Klitz is a sophomore at UNL majoring in agribusiness.
  • Donovan Buss, son of Bryan and Diane Buss of York. Buss will be a first-year student at NCTA majoring in Ag Production Systems.
