Meet Your Board | Ron Benson

Ron Benson is a CVA Director for Region 7. His farm is located near Clay Center, Kansas, just a few miles northeast of town. Ron primarily raises corn, soybeans, grain sorghum, and a little bit of wheat on his dryland farm. Ron grew up on this farm and in 1993 he transitioned and took over from his parents. Currently he farms with his wife, Kathryn, and their two sons, Alex and Jude, and one employee.

Central Valley Ag Cooperative (CVA) has partnered with Land O’ Lakes Inc. and their Land O’ Lakes Foundation Member Co-op Program, to again support the Nebraska FFA Foundation and the I Believe in the Future of Ag Program. This program helps local FFA chapters raise money for innovative projects in their classrooms, leadership programming, community service projects, and field trips to advance agriculture education in their schools.

Meet Your Board | Carmen Schlickbernd

Carmen Schlickbernd is a CVA Director for Region 4; her farm is located near West Point, Nebraska, just a few miles Southeast of town. Carmen works alongside her father and brother-in-law as livestock producers, operating a feedlot and raising a cow-calf herd. They also grow corn, soybeans, and hay. Carmen’s grandpa initially settled the farm place and began the tradition of raising cattle for the family.

The campaign consists primarily of videos and free downloadable resources available in an online media center. These resources are available for anyone who wants to grow their knowledge about the agriculture industry, whether in the classroom, at home, or in the workplace.
