Roger and Patty Loseke set their roots on a farm North of Monroe, Nebraska, 40 years ago. It was 1980, not exactly an ideal time on the farm, but they persevered. “It was tough, but we made it through,” said Roger as he sat down for an interview in his farm shop. Loseke’s are strictly a grain farming operation that produces corn and soybeans in Platte County.

Located at the intersection of highway 15 and highway 148 in Washington County, The Junction has upright storage capacity of 2.1 million bushels, 1.5-million-bushel capacity in ground-pile storage and loading capacity of 65,000 bushel per hour. The site also features in-bound and out-bound scales and a card reader system to enhance speed and efficiency.

When you look out from the Central Valley Ag Ainsworth location, you are surrounded by vast open spaces, rolling hills, and an air of tranquility. Within the Ainsworth location, you are welcomed by Ben Beegle, the Location Manager. This individual, along with the other CVA Ainsworth team members, are ready to help your operation and build a trusting and valuable relationship with you.

Tucked away in its soft rolling hills, Lincoln, Kansas has been home to the Buttenhoff family for many generations. John Buttenhoff, alongside his father Ron, have ran a diversified crop and livestock operation John’s whole life, just as Ron and his father did before John. Ron says, “Being a part of the cooperative, it’s still about people. I really appreciate CVA’s willingness to serve and be there when we need them.”

Central Valley Ag (CVA) believes in ensuring the long-term success of our employees and our customers by being a leader in the agricultural industry. The grain business is all about relationships,” says Kelby Vandenberg, grain merchandiser. “Building it with our farmers; the customer service for when they bring it to us; and then building the relationships with the end-users.

While driving in Nebraska, Kansas or Iowa you may meet a truck on the road, or several, that proudly carry the Central Valley Ag logo on the side. Maybe you gave the trucker a wave or a nod, but did you think any more about what that person’s role is in the cooperative? Did you think about how much farmers and ranchers rely on these drivers? The CVA Transport Team ensure expectations and demands are met while adding putting in hours on the road.

The Feed Division at CVA stays committed to the success of our patrons. They focus on delivering top-notch nutrition programs, great customer service, and the best quality products. Specialists carefully select suppliers and test ingredient sources, understanding how important performance is to a livestock operation. Keeping up with the latest trends in the industry is one of their highest priorities.

In the farming industry today, growers are always looking for insight into what could benefit their fields and operations. Thad Russell, Field Sales Agronomist at the Hampton, Nebraska location, has realized the significant impact he can have on a farmer’s operation by building that personal relationship and has taken the title ‘trusted advisor’ to a new level.

In the middle in Nebraska, CVA Humphrey is prepared to bring value to its member owners. “We’ve got a good young crew here that knows what they’re doing, they’re experienced in their jobs,” says Michael Bayer, Location Manager. “Everybody knows what to get ready, and we try to keep improving ourselves not only with training but also building our facilities to meet the demands of the growers.”

As the farm continues to evolve, many producers are looking for ways to differentiate themselves or their product from others. Phil Troester, a CVA member-owner, decided to diversify his operation by producing white corn with his father over 20 years ago. Raised on his family’s farm in Hampton, Nebraska, Phil has been farming since 1977 and claims it’s the best life he could have asked for.

Sara Sublett wears many hats. She works as the CVA Location Manager at the Courtland, Kansas elevator, serves as 4-H project leader and completes several wood working projects in her free time. But her favorite title of them all is “Mom.” Although at times she may face difficult challenges, Sara hasn’t let the responsibility of raising a family stop her from pursuing her career.

Growing up in the Fullerton, NE, area, the Frenzen Family Farms has evolved to what was once my grandfather's farm to my father to mine," said Craig Frenzen. "We grow corn, soybeans, and cattle and have grown with the help of many people. The coop was in integral part of helping me get through those times."

The day begins well before the sun rises for Allen Eilert, a grain producer near Beloit, Kansas. With two planting seasons, two harvest times, and protecting those growing crops in between, Eilert Farms is constantly on the go. Allen is a conventional producer who farms 2,200 acres of hard red winter wheat, 500 acres of soybeans and 600 acres of grain sorghum.

Uniquely located on three rail lines, the CN, the BNSF, and the UP, CVA Hinton is diversified with agronomy, grain, feed, and energy services that provide products and services for Southwest Iowa. It's about Speed and Space and we want to be on the forefront of that. But it's also about building relationships with our customers.

The Nebraska FFA is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Carson Rathje, Student Officer, said it best, “(FFA) gives you a real outlook on what you can do in life and still be a part of agriculture.”

That commitment to safety extends to our producers and local communities. CVA's safety team is dedicated to providing training opportunities, and aid in the communities we call home. As a resource to local fire departments, CVA's Rope Rescue team assists in grain bin and high angle rescues.

You have a family in the cooperative whether is the people you work with, or the producers, or the administrative side. The cooperative is full of people who are genuine, honest, uplifting, caring - and those people work for this cooperative. And that makes the cooperative what it ought to be.

The hub in Monroe is really a gateway to Monroe, NE. "We strive to be the best stewards to the land. We want to be the best we can be with agriculture -not only with chemistry, but with production of the grain," says Location Manger, Doug Eisenmenger. "At our dry plant, we can hold 43,000 ton and at our liquid plant we can hold 45,000 tons. We are built for speed and space."

Small town girl, Abby Simonsen, is the HACCP Coordinator for Central Valley Ag. She is also an EMT and grew up a rural community where her mother taught her homesteading activities. "Learning how to see projects from beginning to end really ties into feed safety," says Simonsen.
