Central Valley Ag (CVA), a leading agricultural cooperative, announced today a significant expansion project for its grain facility, The Junction, located north of Linn, Kansas near the intersection of highways 15 and 148. With an investment of $4 million, the expansion will see the establishment of a state-of-the-art Agronomy Plant, enhancing the cooperative’s capabilities in providing essential agricultural services to farmers in the region.

“We are excited to embark on this expansion journey with the addition of our Agronomy plant at The Junction,” said Nic McCarthy, SVP of Agronomy at CVA. “This investment reaffirms our dedication to our member-owners and underscores our commitment to providing them with the best resources available to enhance their farming operations.

The expansion underscores CVA’s commitment to modernizing its infrastructure to better serve the evolving needs of its members and the agricultural community at large. Built in 2018, The Junction features a 3.4-million-bushel upright grain storage capacity alongside 1.5 million bushels of bunker storage. In 2019, The Junction expanded its offerings with the introduction of an NH3 Plant, equipped with a substantial storage capacity of 90,000 gallons of NH3. Continuing its trajectory of growth and innovation, The Junction added a clear diesel fueling site in 2023.

The Agronomy Plant will feature cutting-edge facilities for the storage and distribution of essential agricultural inputs, including liquid fertilizer, bulk and package chemical storage, as well as seed storage and treatment services. These additions will allow the cooperative to streamline its operations, optimize logistics, and enhance efficiency in delivering crucial resources to farmers.

The expanded facility will not only bolster CVA’s operational capacity but also position it as a key hub for agricultural innovation and support in the region. By consolidating essential agronomy services under one roof, the cooperative aims to simplify the procurement process for farmers while ensuring the highest standards of quality and service.

“At The Junction, our dedication remains steadfastly focused on serving our valued member-owners and the broader farming community. With each endeavor, we strive to enhance our offerings, ensuring that we continue to provide the vital resources and support necessary for agricultural success in our region,” said Brent Reichmuth, SVP of Operations at CVA.

Construction on the Agronomy Plant is set to commence Fall 2024, with completion expected Spring 2025.
