CVA partners with Northeast Community College in Apprenticeship Program
Nov 07, 2023
Central Valley Ag and Northeast Community College are partnering to offer a chemical applicator apprenticeship program, providing a new career path for students and adults.
As part of the apprenticeship program, individuals will have the opportunity to work with CVA while also taking occupation-specific courses with Northeast. This unique opportunity allows students to gain both classroom and on-the-job experience, while earning an income and obtaining a degree in a new career field.
"This program equips students with the necessary skills to start and advance their career," said Brent Reichmuth, Senior Vice President of Operations at CVA. "It's a great opportunity for future applicators and CVA is excited to be a part of it."
The Chemical Applicator Apprenticeship Program is for people of all ages who want to earn a salary while learning how to effectively operate chemical application equipment and understand what chemicals are used to treat specific infestations. The program contains 8-weeks of related instruction and approximately one-year on-the-job training. Upon course completion, individuals will receive their Commercial Applicator License. Central Valley Ag is also covering the cost of tuition and fees for apprenticeship-related instruction.
"The apprenticeship program has been instrumental in helping me understand how the problems we learn about in the classroom can occur in real life, and how we can resolve them. Applying classroom knowledge directly to the field has been a huge benefit to my education," said Tanner Pfeifer, a student in the apprenticeship program, "I am thankful to both Northeast and CVA for giving me, and other students, the opportunity to get firsthand experience before we begin our full-time careers."
Deadline to apply is May 1, 2024. First come, first served of eligible applicants so don't delay, apply today! Apply online with CVA at www.cvacoop.com/apprenticeship.
If you have questions about the program, please email email@example.com and a Talent Coordinator will reach out to you.
