CVA Power Cow Mineral

Welcome to the CVA Feed Blog! The CVA Feed Team is excited about this new avenue of communication. Our goal is to bring value to producers as we highlight important topics throughout each season, as well as familiarize the communities we serve with each of our feed locations capabilities. Whether it is focusing on the current season or looking ahead to the next, we plan to bring a wealth of knowledge right to your fingertips. As we publish every two weeks, our team hopes you find the information helpful and see an opportunity to interact with your local representatives. In this first blog posting, we first want to give you an overview of our divisions capabilities within our locations and CVA branded feed products.

Central Valley Ag’s Feed Division is focused on delivering top-notch nutrition programs, excellent customer service, and the best quality products. CVA runs and operates 9 mills, where we produce custom mixed feeds for swine, cattle, poultry, equine and specialty feeds. Three of our mills (Ainsworth, Duncan, NE and Hinton, IA) have pelleting capability. Our Duncan location has the distinction of being a NAE (non-antibiotic ever) facility. CVA also offers retail feed products at certain locations. As we have shown our dedication to customizing each producer’s experience, we have also formulated our own line of CVA branded feed products.

CVA Branded Feed Products

CVA Power, the go-to solution for producers seeking top-tier animal feed nutrition. Our lineup includes Power Feeds, Power Cow, Power Range, Power Flock, and Horse Power. CVA Power Feeds is the epitome of show feed excellence. Power Cow and Power Range are CVA's mineral programs, meticulously crafted to harmonize with local grazing/feeding conditions while meeting the nutrient requirements of your herd. CVA tub lines, Power Cow and Horse Power, are available in a variety of formulas to meet the specific needs of your animals.

With CVA Empyrean, horse owners can trust in a superior feed solution that prioritizes health, longevity, and peak performance. We feel that through each of our feed lines we can still find that customized service to meet your needs. We are excited and fortunate to be able to take the next step with our partner, BioZyme.

Amaferm

Amaferm is prebiotic that increases fiber and protein digestibility leading to increased energy and protein available to the animal. Increasing energy and protein supplies to growing calves is the basic purpose of a creep feed, therefore it makes perfect sense to include Amaferm in your CVA creep feed to get more lbs. from your creep feeding investment.

In addition to energy and protein, one additional benefit of Amaferm is it has been shown in research to help animals maintain healthy rumen development, minimize acidosis, and minimize digestive upsets. It will reduce common issues such as acidosis and bloat that are common while adapting to a high energy creep feed.

But what about economics? Amaferm costs less than $.05 per day to feed.  It provides an extra .25 lb per day during the creep and backgrounding period. This provides a return on investment of around $.75 per day or 15:1. You can expect an additional 25 lbs. for every 100 days when including Amaferm in your creep program along with healthier calves with less digestive issues.

In 2021, Biozyme and CVA began discussing partnering to bring new technology and quality nutritional products to CVA. Since then, we have continued to work together to develop high profit feeding programs by including Amaferm. For more information or questions, please reach out to your CVA feed representative or Kevin Glaubius, BioZyme ASM for Nebraska at 816-752-2234.
