Sustainability
Nutrient Management
Just like a healthy body starts with a healthy gut, a healthy crop starts with the soil’s health. The soil microbial life acts much like the microbes in the human body. They help cycle nutrients in the soil, assist the plant with acquiring nutrients and water, and create a healthy environment for life in the soil.
Sustainable Acre
Your fields offer a prime opportunity to generate this new commodity by adopting in-field conservation practices like no-till or cover crops or for growing value-added grains. Central Valley Ag goal is to guide you through the necessary agronomic adjustments and provide you with recommendations to ensure that you are maximizing your yields and profitability. Though each sustainability program is slightly different, most require the grower to track the following information: Field Boundaries & Crop Rotation, Applications to the Field (Seed, Chem, Fertilizer, etc), Fertilizer Management Records (Rates, Timing, etc), and Tillage & Yield.
Soil Sampling
Central Valley Ag’s ACS team can bring you many advantages with intensive soil sampling. The ACS team does intensive sampling to establish a baseline of soil fertility levels without bias from previous land use, cropping histories or manure applications. These samples are collected, and information is kept in-house to be analyzed and available to you and your CVA partners, keeping your data secure. Soil samples are analyzed for Macro and Secondary Nutrients as well as OM and pH. Micronutrient and Nitrogen analysis are available for additional fees upon request. All soil analysis is performed by an independent, nationally recognized, and certified soils lab and results are evaluated and interpreted by experienced CVA ACS specialists and Field Sales Agronomists.
